NOTES
After the National Anthem a moment of silence was held in honor of motorsport
enthusiast. Steve Evans.
A tribute was also held in honor of Sprint Car fan George Wilson Jr. One of
his favorite racers, Mike Kirby drove several memorial laps with checked flag
in hand.
During Heat 1
- Richard Griffin had slowed to a stop in turn 1. After the
restart, his right front wheel came off in turn 4.
Heat #2
- Kaylene Verville becomes the first woman racer to win an SCRA Heat Race.
It was also reported that she is the first woman to transfer to the A-Main.
(She did this on both nights of competition.)
She is a Phoenix "Wing Driver" that started her
sprint car career in non-wing sprints. She now races about 4 times a year
without "barn doors."
During B-Main
- An early race incident in turn 3/4 collected Lance
Gremett, Bobby Graham, Ron Clark, Kevin Doty, Bill Rose and Danny Sheridan.
Lance Gremett got airborne and landed on Ron Clark. Danny Sheridan, Lance
Gremett, and Ron Clark were able to restart.
-J. Hicks and Tony Elliott were "scratched" in the race.
Richard Griffin passed Brad Noffsinger just before the flagstand to win the
race. John Scott passed Mike English in turn 4 of the last lap to transfer.
During A-Main
-Jeremy Sherman had a flat left rear tire on lap 1- caused a yellow flag.
-Jordan Hermansader caused an early yellow flag.
-Joe Devin caused an early red flag in turn 3. Mike Kirby changed a right rear
during the red and had to start in the back.
-Jeremy Sherman had a broken front end in turn 3/4. After his initial restart
he had passed about 10 cars.
-Rodney Argo slowed on lap 20.
-Jay Drake won by 5.69 seconds.
