BAKER VICTORIOUS AT DUKE CITY |

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - MAY 17, 2003 - Saturday night saw 19 Sprinters take the
green for their 20 Lap Feature. #9 Kelly Denison, 2002 Rookie of the year took
the Lead from pole setter #76 Tim Jones. The red flag flew when #38 Rookie JC
Powell Jr. hooked a wheel and flipped hard in #1 corner destroying his ride and
taking a trip to the hospital to be checked out.
The restart again had Denison in the lead until lap 4 when #62 Chris Faber took over. Unfortunately Faber looped it going giving the lead to #22 Grants' Bo Baker. Lap 13 saw #48 Bobby Seals take the low grove in #2 and briefly help the lead. Lap 15 saw Baker use the same move and took the checker ahead of Seals, #73 Nick Rael, Denison and #01 Larry Stoerkel. Baker became the new NMMRA Points Leader, as #0x was absent from the field. #52 Shawn Dutcher won the Street Stock Main and Aztec's #14 Taylor Yazzie the Modified Feature. NMMRA Sprinters will return to Duke City Raceway on Sat. May 31st.
