  KNOXVILLE, IOWA  (JAN. 16,
  2002)  -  Entry packets are now available
  for the tenth annual Goodyear Masters Classic to be held at the Knoxville
  Raceway on Friday, May 31.  The 360-cubic-inch winged sprint car event,
  which is open to drivers age fifty and over, will again take place during
  the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame induction weekend, May 30-June 2.
 
  An open
  track practice will be held on Thursday night, May 30,
  for all divisions on the Marion County Fairgrounds half-mile dirt oval.
  The complete Goodyear Masters Classic program, featuring time trials,
  heats, 'B' main and $3,000-to-win 'A' main, will be augmented on Friday
  night with hot laps for midget cars.  The Saturday, June 1, Kin
  Folks/Magic Muffler Night schedule will feature the track's 410 c.i.
  winged sprint car class and the 30-car, 25-lap Pepsi/Mt. Dew Knoxville
  Midget Championship feature.  The midget races, being held at Knoxville
  for the first time since 1979, will be tri-sanctioned by the Badger
  Midget Auto Racing Association, Midwest Auto Racing Association, and the
  North American Auto Racing Series (NAMARS).
 
  Teams
  entering the Goodyear Masters Classic will need to make sure
  their cars meet event rules, which include a 1300-pound minimum weight
  and use of the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) spec head or gasket.
  There will be no tire rule, and hydraulic top wing sliders are legal this
  year.  Among the drivers that have competed in this Seniors Tour-type
  event since 1993 are National Sprint Car Hall of Famers Rick Ferkel,
  Larry Dickson, Leroy Van Conett, Ray Lee Goodwin, Bob Kinser, Bobby
  Allen, and Clarence 'Hooker' Hood.  In all, 105 drivers from 24 states
  and 2 foreign provinces have competed in the Goodyear Masters Classic in
  it's rich nine year history.
 
  Past
  Goodyear Masters Classic champions include Rick Ferkel (1993-94-95), Billy Engelhart (1996-97), Jerry Crabb (1998), Roger Rager (1999,
  2001) and Terry Pletch (2000).  Those wishing to receive Goodyear Masters
