(Chico, CA 6-17-08)...It should be an exciting night of racing at Silver Dollar Speedway this weekend for both the fans and drivers. Extra money is on the line for the wingless sprints courtesy of Skyway Tool Center in Chico and the Street Stocks courtesy of Angie's Poker Club. The wingless sprints feature winner will receive $1,000 for the win while second through fifth in the main event will earn an extra $100. There is also a special Dash for Cash featuring the top six cars from qualifying including Chico's Jimmy Pettit who brought Skyway Tool Center to the racetrack. “Doug Gillis has always been a big supporter of us local racers at Chico,” said Pettit. “Tonight we decided to offer the wingless division a chance to run for more money and some really cool tools.” Angie's Poker Club will take care of the street stock division and offer extra money for the win. The dirt modified's will run a special race with points going towards the 2008 Sierra Valley Truss modified tour along with Silver Dollar Speedway points.

Front grandstand gate will open at 6 pm. Racing is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm. Adult general admission is $11.00. Seniors and Juniors are $9.00 and children are $5.00.

The wingless division will compete during this special night of extra money and tools. For one night only we will qualify the wingless sprints. The fastest six will compete in the Dash for Tools. Some of the prizes given to the dash cars are provided by Makita Power Tools, S-K Hand Tools, CP Chicago Pneumatic and Skyway Tools. The fans will not be left out. Skyway will also throw out 40-50 shirts into the stands. Also, as fans enter the main grandstand there will be tickets to give away for some drawings held later that night. In the pit area Makita, S-K and Chicago Pneumatic will has displays for drivers and fans. “We are really excited to make this a success on Friday night,” said Pettit. “If things go well we will do this as an annual event.” Skyway Tool Center is located at the corner of Bruce Rd and the Skyway. Going on 23 years of being in business in Chico.

Keith Bloom Jr. keeps on trucking. He now leads Taylor Simas by 49-points. Mason Myers of Browns Valley moved into the third spot. Paradise driver Justin Funkhouser stays in the fourth spot even after not being able to run the main event. Funkhouser won his heat race and should of started on the pole but was a scratch. Reyna Krueger moved into the top five with another top ten finish in her main event. The big winner of the night was Travis Moore. He led all 20-laps to win his first career wingless main event at Chico. Moore was all smiles after the races.

Angie's Poker Club joined forces with street stock gasser Heather Bartlett earlier this year and now Angie's Poker Club is helping the whole division. Angie is putting up extra cash to add to the excitement of this year's street stock main event. Redding's Scott Rogers leads the division by 16-points over Bartlett. Bartlett is looking for her first win of the year and this Friday would be the perfect fit. Two-time champion Jeff Olschowka is right in the mix and only 25-points behind Rogers and just nine behind Bartlett. Angie's Poker Club is also throwing out numerous t-shirts into the crowd. She is also expecting a strong fan base to bring excitement into the grandstands. Angie's Poker Club is located behind Nobby's off Park Ave in Chico. Open late with plenty of fun for the fans and drivers after the races on Friday nights.

The dirt modified division is also expecting a big turn out with extra money on the line. This Friday is the 2008 Sierra Valley Truss modified tour. The tour is a four race schedule with stops at American Valley Speedway in Quincy and Diamond Mountain Race Track. Chico's point leader is Richard Papenhausen. He leads by 45-points over Darin Ruley. Durham driver Mike Sohnrey sits third and is tied with Mark Abouzeid. Each driver is 80-points behind Papenhausen. Oregon driver Scott Lenz was the surprise winner this past Friday.
