BOAT MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW IN THE MIDGETS |

(October 6, 2007) --- Three drivers were pulling double duty and the all finished in the top four in the 20 lap Arizona Midget Racing Association feature. For the second week in a row, and facing a tough field fifteen year old Chad Boat was again the fastest in the field. R.J. Johnson outdueled three time main event winner Chris Rahe for second and Nathan High, a two time winner was fourth. Michael Marfia a visitor from New Mexico took fifth. Rounding out the top ten were Jeff Henry, also pulling double duty, Darin Fala, Jeff Perry, Alex Bowman and Brendan Higgins. The one third mile track was perfect for the midget heat races. Johnson, who had already won a heat race in the sprinters, flirted with the eight lap midget record as he tripped the clock at 2:00.63 in the first heat as he beat Rahe, Marfia, Perry, Higgins, Fala and James Tash. The record was broken by Boat who shot from the pole to take the win with a clocking of 1:59.28 which was just a tick of the clock faster than the record of 1:59.59 that was held by High. Boat held a 2.37 second lead in the closing laps but a yellow flag allowed the field to close up. The youngster was up to the challenge and again pulled away with Johnson about five car lengths back.
