Get out the broom, BK sweeps SCRA event in Tulare
by Gary Thomas

Tulare, Ca - June 25, 2006... Dominating is the easiest word that can be used to describe Brent Kaeding's performance in Saturday night's SCRA event at Tulare's Thunderbwol Raceway. The Campbell veteran and many time Golden State Challenge King of California Series champion won every time he hit the track Saturday en route to a clean sweep and his third SCRA main event victory of the season.

Kaeding started on the pole of the feature and easily jumped out to the lead at the waving of the green flag. Before a lap could be completed, however, the yellow waved for Richard Brace Jr. Who had slowed to a stop. On the next start Michael Trimble went for a wild ride in turns one and two flipping into the crash wall and created a slight delay in the action. When racing got back underway a couple laps were completed before Todd Hunsaker and Jeff Delte tangled in turn two. Under the caution Andy Ferris who was running second, got penalized two positions for hitting the cone on the previous restart.

The restart saw Kaeding pull away from the field and distance himself from the rest of the competitors. Daniel Hood, who won last Friday's SCRA event at Ocean Speedway, started outside the seventh row and charged all the way up to fifth on lap eight before he came to a stop in turn three on lap nine with apparent engine troubles.

With the time limit almost up, the green flag came back out and once again Kaeding walked away from the field and went on to pick up the feature event win with air to spare. Jonathan Logan finished second with Andy Ferris, Rusty Carlile and Jesee Mack rounding out the top five. Finishing sixth through eighth were Aaron Chaney, Kyle Hirst and Richard Brace Jr.
Hirst's run was crowd pleasing as he was pretty much the only driver testing out the higher regions of the speedway. Hirst banged off the wall multiple times and charged forward late in the race to get up to his eventual seventh place finish.

The Dash went to Brent Kaeding who utilized a last lap pass of Andy Ferris to pick up the win.

Heats went to Kaeding, Richard Brace Jr. and Steve Osborne.

Kaeding started off the night by turning a 16.065 second lap in qualifying to earn fast time honors.
