$2,500.00 TROPHY DASH ADDED TO
SATURDAY’S VALVOLINE USAC/CRA SPRINT CAR RACE AT PERRIS AUTO

(AUGUST 25, 2004, PERRIS, CA) It was announced on Wednesday that in
addition to the regular Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint Car program at Perris Auto
Speedway this Saturday night, several sponsors have gotten together to put on a
special “Legends of Ascot Trophy Dash at The PAS” that will carry a minimum
purse of $2,500.00! The Legends of Ascot Trophy Dash at The PAS is a throwback to the days of Ascot Park when drivers such as Dean Thompson, Jim Hurtubise, Bubby Jones, Jimmy Oskie, Parnelli Jones, Rick Goudy, Buster Venard, Walt Kennedy, Billy Cantrell, Bob Hogle, Billy Wilkerson, Allen Heath, Tony Simon, Colby Scroggin and current Valvoline USAC/CRA star Rip Williams would open the show where “The Harbor, The San Diego and the 91 Freeways COLLIDED.” This Saturday’s high-dollar 3-lap trophy dash, which will feature the nights four fastest qualifier starting in inverted order, will be the first race on Saturday’s exciting open wheel card, Just like it used to be with the original CRA. Sponsors involved in putting this added event together are Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply, Ron Schwarze, Crow Enterprises, Jack Jory, Hoosier Tire West, Jim Giardina, Buzz Shoemaker, Billy Wilkerson, RC Performance, Miller Freight Lines, Jack Gardner Jr., JE Pistons, JFK Company, Lee Manufacturing, TCR, Fontana Automotive, Schroeder Enterprises, Barnes Systems and Sander Engineering. Saturday’s program, the Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply Showdown II presented by Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply and Vista Paint, will feature full programs for the Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint Cars and the USAC Ford Focus Midgets. It will also close the festivities on the 2nd Annual Legends of Ascot. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM for Saturday’s race and the Legends of Ascot Trophy Dash at The PAS will bump off at 7:00. Perris Auto Speedway is conveniently located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, home of the Southern California Fair, approximately one hour east of Los Angeles. Take the 215 Freeway, exit at the Ramona Expressway and go east two and a half miles to the fairgrounds.
