The
Don Peabody Classic was one of the premier
events for the CRA Sprint Cars. Honoring past CRA
President Don Peabody, the event was not only the
season finale (most years), but also featured one of
the highest purses on the circuit. At the request of
the Peabody Family, the event ended with the closing
of Ascot Park in 1990.
Event
winners include Bubby Jones, Dean Thompson, Buster
Venard, Steve Kinser, Ron Shuman, Brad Noffsinger, and Jimmy Oskie.
